Bowser Costume


“…he shoots fireballs out of his mouth!”

This is the reason my kid wanted to be Bowser, it seemed like a legit reason for a six year old. So I set on a mission to find a tutorial, pics, videos and various inspirations to help me make this challenging project an easy one. I found one that I liked and tweaked it. So this is my journey on creating this Bowser costume and I hope this video tutorial helps you. If you have any questions leave a comment. I’d be happy to lend any advice.. Happy Crafting!

Material List: (for size 8 in boys, Medium)

  • Yellow fleece (2 1/2 yards)
  • Cream fleece (1/2 yard)
  • Green fleece (1 yard)
  • Black felt (one sheet)
  • Red felt (two sheets)
  • White felt (2 sheets)
  • Cream felt (1/2 yard)
  • Batting (1/2 yard)
  • Polyfill (10 oz.)
  • Thread (green, black, cream, red, gold)
  • Invisible zipper (I could only find white, yellow would be perferred)
  • Black ribbon, or another material suitable for straps ( I got really lucky and found one with studs)
  • Black elastic (foldover elastic is best, the type used for headbands)
  • Glue gun and glue sticks
  • Cardboard
  • Duck Tape
  • 3/4″ width elastic (wrist/ ankles)

Complete the yellow fleece onesie first. Make sure to leave opening where tail will go and for your invisible zipper.Check out this link for the base of the costume. Pajama Onesie tutorial:
